Sunflower Seed Chocolate Nicecream
I scream you scream, we all scream for Ice Cream.
Right? For those of you out there that are die-hard ice cream lovers, intolerances to dairy or going vegan can feel like your putting up barriers between you and the foods you love, especially ones that satisfy that sweet tooth. But what if you still could enjoy creamy frozen goodness, but without all the added sugar, gums, and gunk that usually accompanies store-bought ice cream?
Well, with this recipe, not only is it something you can enjoy without having to take a nap afterward to run off a sugar high, but it is also something that serves you and your body with its wholistic ingredients, ones that can be enjoyed as frequently as your heart desires.
Bananas, bananas, bananas. These are the main ingredient, and what you will be for this recipe of healthy ice cream after you try it for the first time. Perhaps I am biased, obsessed if you want to call it that with "nice cream", but without a doubt it is something I can't imagine my life without so I don't want you to be in waiting for it any longer either.
If you are a more simplistic ice cream lover, play with this recipe! I love adding in seed or nut butters along with chopped seeds, so that is what this recipe is but they are totally optional.
The bananas not so optional but I think you get the idea.
I encourage creativity though because everyone is so uniquely different, but I think this chunky monkey bowl of heaven is definitely worth at least a try.
Sunflower Seed Nicecream
4 Frozen Bananas
¼ Cup of Chocolate Chips
¼ Cup of Pumpkin Seeds
2 Tbsp of Sunflower Seed Butter
1 Tsp of Vanilla Extract
In a Vitamix or high-speed blender, add all of your ingredients as they are listed.
Blend on low and gradually increase speed until all the ingredients come together using the plunger, or by stopping to push down the frozen fruit as needed.
Once you see a swirl form this is indicative that you have achieved a creamy consistency.
Pour into a bowl and enjoy!
See, easy, quick, and simplistic in every way.
